Okay, I am not a cook, but boy do I love all
that cooking and kitchen junk. Love those spiffy old aprons, out-of-print
cook books, cookie tins, hand made pot holders, percolators and coffee
pots, milk bottles (Got milk junk?) salt and pepper shakers, pots
and pans, bread boxes and boards, bohemian coffee cups, and good old
housekeeping tools--brooms and dustpans! The kitchen is for sure the
heart of the home. (Other than the bedroom where do we spend more
time?) I have always used mine not only as a galley, but a gallery
to display kitchen works of art. If you visit my Kitchen
Junk book and you want to go on the ultimate
kitchen junk hunt, then you need to head for Stove Heaven. It's an
amazing shrine to stoves from yesteryear (all in working order) "Where,"
according to the sign outside, "the Good Ones Go." Each
of my junk books has a complete state-to-state Junk Guide in the back
filled with all the places I junked in through each book journey.
And each piece of junk celebrated in the books has a price on its
little head! These books are meant to be not only dangerously inspiring,
but useful! Remember, never stop to think do I have a place for this!
Or this book! |
