I had been searching for a guest book to welcome friends and family
to our home throughout the seasons. Since I couldn't find one that
did the job, I created one using photographs from American Family
Style. It is unique because it is divided into the seasons, calling
out the major holidays like Thanksgiving. Friends and family can
write a greeting or just sign in. I always encourage friends to
be creative. One Thanksgiving my niece Mary Randolph who was about
six at the time, drew pictures of our dinner--even the Pigs-in-the-Blanket
some friends had brought! Though there are pictures to set the mood,
there is space to add more. Mine resembles a fat little scrapbook.
Friends seems to love to review them whenever they visit.
The Welcome Book has recently been reprinted by a private publisher.
Luckily she is a friend of mine, so I have plenty to spare.
